Eri Hertiawan graduated with a bachelor of law degree, majoring in civil law, from Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung, and was awarded a master of laws degree by the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. He is licensed as an advocate by the Indonesian Bar Association (Peradi), of which he is a prominent member, and is certified as an Accredited Mediator by both the Pusat Mediasi Nasional (National Mediation Center / PMN) in Jakarta and the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution / CEDR (London). He is also Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbiter, and appointed as SIAC User Council of the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC).
At Assegaf Hamzah & Partners, he co-heads one of the foremost commercial disputes practices in the country. He is listed in 2013 edition of The International Who's Who of Commercial Litigators and the 2014 edition of The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers.
