Doug Harrison is a partner in the Litigation Group of Stikeman Elliott in Toronto. His practice is focused primarily in the areas of general corporate-commercial litigation and arbitration, environmental litigation, product liability, defamation and insolvency.
He has extensive advocacy experience having appeared before all levels of court in Ontario (including the Commercial Court), the Federal Court (Trial Division), and various administrative tribunals. He is also experienced in alternative dispute resolution and class actions. Mr. Harrison was recently recognized as a pre-eminent figure in both litigation and global product liability law by Legal Media Group/Euromoney in the 2012 Guide to the World’s Leading Litigation Lawyers and the 2012 Guide to the World’s Leading Product Liability Lawyers.
Mr. Harrison is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the American Bar Association (Section of International Law), The Advocates’ Society, the Toronto Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute, ICC Canada, the London Court of International Arbitration and the International Association of Defense Counsel. He is currently the International ADR Chair of the DRI Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.
Mr. Harrison has extensive experience representing clients in domestic and international arbitrations, drafting arbitration agreements and assisting in the selection of arbitrators.
