Prior to joining Assegaf Hamzah & Partners in late 2016, Farid served at KPPU for more than 7 years. Starting as an investigator, Farid has handled numerous landmark cases. He was involved in the investigation against several major airlines in Indonesia on alleged fuel surcharge fixing, and in the investigation on alleged cartel practice in the cement industry. He was also involved in several bid-rigging cases, arising from procurements held by both private companies and public institutions or state-owned companies. After leaving KPPU in 2011, Farid continue to build his professional career in the competition law field, representing blue-chip clients before KPPU in high profile cartel cases. Recently, he represented PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing, a subsidiary of a Japan-based multinational corporation and conglomerate, in KPPU’s proceeding on alleged cartel practice related to automatic motorcycle product.
