Mercedes Tarrazon is founding partner of Dispute Management. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) both in arbitration and in mediation and Distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators.
She has been seated as arbitrator either ad hoc, in particular at UNCITRAL, or administered by various institutions including ICDR, ICC, the Madrid Chamber of Commerce Court of Arbitration, the Madrid Bar Court of Arbitration and the Spanish Court of Arbitration.
Her experience as mediator in mainly ad hoc but has intervened also in ICC cases.
Mercedes is member of the board of the Club Español del Arbitraje, where she chairs the Commission on Mediation, and Consul of Barcelona’s Consulate of the Sea (ADR Center). Among other positions held in the past, she has been member for Spain at the ICC International Court of Arbitration (2000–2018) and member of the board of the CIArb (2006–2012) and of the CPR European Advisory Committee (2007–2015).
She is a frequent speaker at arbitration and ADR fora as well as guest lecturer in private dispute resolution at several institutions. She is a CIArb approved trainer and has also served as judge, mediator and member of the Drafting Committee in several editions of the ICC Mediation Competition.
Mercedes has mediated, conducted arbitrations and rendered awards in Catalan, Spanish, English, French and Italian. She has also a good knowledge of German and Portuguese.
Mercedes is listed in Who’s Who Legal: Mediation (2011 to 2019) and Who’s Who Legal Arbitration (2015).
