Christina Bryant is a partner in the litigation and dispute resolution team at Hesketh Henry.  She has specialist expertise in construction and insurance law.  Her practice encompasses a range of complex, high value contract disputes and professional indemnity claims, examples of which include:

  • Savvy Vineyards 3552 Ltd v Kakara Estate Ltd [2014] NZSC 121.  Leading New Zealand authority on the assignment and novation of contracts.
  • Carter Holt Harvey Ltd v Genesis Power Ltd and Rolls-Royce New Zealand Ltd including [2005] 1 NZLR 324 (CA), [2006] 3 NZLR 794 and various unreported decisions.  Defence of New Zealand’s largest engineering and construction litigation to date, arising out of alleged defects in a cogeneration plant in the central North Island. 
  • Representing structural engineers at the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the fatal collapse of the CTV building during the Canterbury earthquakes.
  • Advising an international consortium partner in connection with a major upgrade to the upper North Island transmission grid.

Christina is a graduate of the University of Auckland and King’s College London.  She is admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor in New Zealand and as a solicitor in England and Wales.
