Jonathan Edward Adams is a partner in Baker McKenzie's Mexico offices, heads the firm's compliance team in Mexico and is the global compliance practice group's regional coordinator for Latin America. He has extensive experience in compliance, corporate and pharmaceutical law, having worked in-house in Mexico City for a top-ten global healthcare company before re-joining the firm in 2013. Before his time as in-house counsel, he spent seven years in the US and four in Mexico and Central America with Baker McKenzie as an associate attorney. Jonathan has conducted numerous internal investigations on matters ranging from government procurement corruption to illegal labour practices and corporate fraud. He also helps clients create compliance structures to prevent illegal activities, as well as counsel clients on discrete matters when an independent counsel is needed for a specific issue. He combines a US-based perspective on legal implementation and compliance issues with years of on-the-ground experience in Latin America. Jonathan works closely with client commercial teams to implement innovative solutions to legal challenges. He is admitted to practise law in Mexico and two US states.
