Paula Clancy has over 20 years of experience as a corporate/commercial and trademark lawyer. From 1994 to 2008 she worked at one of Canada’s largest firms, which was consistently rated as the Top IP Firm in Canada. She founded CLANCY PC in 2008, and soon after affiliated with the patent agency BRION RAFFOUL. Paula’s background in both business and intellectual property law is a valuable asset to her clients. Paula has a significant local practice, and her clients range from start-ups to publicly traded companies. In 2008, Paula was awarded the Ottawa Business Journal’s Top Forty Under 40 award, which recognises an elite group of business people under the age of 40 who are committed to business excellence, professional expertise and community giving. She is also listed in Onscope’s 100 Most Active Agents in Canada list. She has been ranked for four consecutive years (2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014) among the world’s leading trademark practitioners by World Trade-mark Reporter’s Top 1000 (WTR 1000) publication. She was a finalist in the 2015 Businesswoman of the Year awards, hosted by the Women's Business Network. Paula is chair of the International Trademark Association’s (INTA) Advertising and Related Rights Subcommittee, the chair of IPIC’s Sole and Small Practice Network, and past president of the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property’s (ASIPI) Social Action Committee. In 2012, she was appointed as the Canadian national delegate for ASIPI.
