Caesar Poblador is a partner at Federis & Associates Law Office. Prior to joining Federis, he worked at two large firms performing primarily litigation work, while supervising daily trademark filing and prosecution work.
Mr Poblador has handled appeals at all levels, including at the Supreme Court where he secured significant victories in labour, aviation and maritime law. He also handled important litigation for high-value trademarks such as DKNY, Bally, Mercedes Benz, PUMA and ADIDAS. In one appeal, brought before the Supreme Court, he secured victory for PUMA, which was declared a protected, well-known trademark. His strong advocacy for the protection of famous trademarks in the Philippines led him to test the use of limited tools under the old trademark law such as the application of section 6-bis of the Paris Convention.
At Federis, Mr Poblador continues to litigate in the area of IP. He plays a key role in every case, reviewing all pleadings and preparing appeals and motions. He attends court hearings and responds to critical questions during raid operations. He defends the issuance of search warrants, and presents evidence at criminal case trials. His extensive litigation experience allows him to test new provisions of trademark law. Additionally, his ability to effectively plead clients’ cases in intellectual property disputes makes him an invaluable asset to the firm.
