Dr. Brigitte Joppich was born in 1963. She studied law at Eberhard-Karls-Universität in Tübingen and Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg, where she took her first State Exam in 1988 and completed her thesis in 1992. She also qualified as Maître-en-droit at Université Paul Cézanne (Aix-Marseille III) in France in 1985 and as LL.M. at the University of London (London School of Economics) in England in 1989.
Dr. Brigitte Joppich worked as a lawyer and later on as a partner for Linklaters (and predecessor firms) in Munich from 1993 through 2004, when she joined a major German television production company as in-house counsel. She has specialized in IP law, trademark law and domain names and has been a Domain Name Panelist with WIPO since 2002 (rendering more than 180 decisions in such capacity).
