Guillermo de la Jara is a partner at Bofill Mir & Álvarez Jana. He oversees the regulatory practice area with particular focus on unfair competition and antitrust, regulated markets, telecommunications, mass media, administrative litigation, intellectual property and public procurement.
Before joining BMAJ, he worked as legal adviser for the Telecommunications sub-Secretariat (1996–2010) and for Isapre Fundación Bancoestado (1990-1996).
Guillermo de la Jara graduated from the Universidad de Chile Law School in 1990 and holds a Diploma in Economy and Finance for Lawyers from the Economy and Administration School, University of Chile (1997). He earned a PhD in law from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain (2008).
Mr de la Jara has been recognised in Chambers and Partners Latin America since 2012 in TMT, and in public law since 2017. The Legal 500 has recommended him in the same areas since 2015, adding Antitrust and Environment in 2017. He is also a ranked lawyer in Who’s Who Legal (2015) and in Best Lawyers (2017) in Telecoms & Media. Latin Lawyer 250 praises him in public law, antitrust and TMT.
