Simon Thomas is a Partner at Baker & Partners, a specialist litigation firm based in Jersey.
His work spans a wide variety of cases from commercial and trust litigation to financial crime and regulation. His particular area of expertise is fraud and asset-tracing and is currently instructed in some of the largest pieces of litigation before the Jersey Courts. He acts for an East African car company in an action against a major bank for dishonestly assisting breaches of duty by its directors over a period of many years. He is also instructed by the Attorney General of Jersey to prosecute the principal of a Jersey based investment firm under Protection of Investors legislation arising out of the collapse of an international investment fund which turned out to be a Ponzi scheme.
Prior to joining Baker & Partners six years ago, Simon spent nearly 20 years in independent practice at the English Bar at 7 Bedford Row Chambers in London specialising in financial crime. He is dually qualified as an English Barrister and Jersey Advocate. He was appointed a Crown Advocate in Jersey in 2015.
