Takashi Tsukioka is a partner at Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu and specialises in international structured finance transactions including transactions involving trusts, asset securitisation, acquisition finance, project finance and Islamic finance. Mr Tsukioka’s expertise also encompasses other types of banking and capital markets transactions as well as advising on banking and securities regulatory matters. He also regularly advises clients regarding their overseas operations, especially operations located in Asian countries.
Mr Tsukioka graduated with an LLB from the University of Tokyo in 1997 and with an LL.M. from Columbia Law School in 2004. His experience includes working at Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York from 2004 to 2005. His publications include Translating Islamic Finance into Japanese Legal Concepts and Commentary on the New Trust Law of Japan (co-authored). He has served as a speaker and moderator at educational seminars and symposiums on diverse legal topics including Islamic finance.
