Ms Hikaru Oguchi leads the Vietnam practice, providing legal consultation in a broad range of areas in relation to foreign investment into Vietnam, including M&A transactions, green field investment in restricted areas including finance industries, food and beverage industries, general corporate matters, labour matters, as well as foreign investors’ exits from investments (including dissolution and bankruptcy). In collaboration with partners in Tokyo, she has also handled various crisis management cases and dispute resolution cases for foreign investors.
Ms Oguchi led the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City office in 2010, and the Hanoi office in 2011. Since 2012, she has served concurrently as head of the two offices and as the partner-in-charge of the Vietnam practice. She has been recognised as a leading individual in Corporate/M&A in Vietnam for four consecutive years from 2012 to 2015 by Chambers Global, and as one of the most successful lawyers from 2011 to 2014 by Nikkei Inc.(Nikkei Shinbun), a leading business newspaper in Japan. Ms Hikaru Oguchi is admitted to practise in Japan (1998) and New York (2003). She has been registered as a foreign attorney in Vietnam since 2010. She graduated from The University of Tokyo (LLB, 1996); Harvard Law School (LLM, 2003) and Stanford Law School (JSM, 2004).
