Dr. Jiang specializes in labor/employment and social security law.
Dr. Jiang has provided advice on settlement schemes and employee issues arising out of M&A transactions, restructuring, reorganization, bankruptcy and stock listings of large PRC state-owned enterprises and multinational companies with investments in China on many occasions. He has obtained outstanding achievements in providing legal advice on recruitment, employment contracts, non-compete agreements, and class actions in labor dispute arbitration and litigation for large state-owned enterprises, foreign companies’ representative offices in China, and foreign-invested companies.
Dr. Jiang is one of the first few people to receive a Ph.D. in labor law in China. He has long been engaged in researching the practical issues of labor laws, trade union laws and social security laws. He has also participated in the legislation of the PRC Labor Law, the Employment Contract Law, the Labor Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Law, the Employment Promotion Law and the Social Insurance Law, as well as the formulation of implementing regulations for such laws. He has provided consultations to legislative authorities on the making and amending of laws and regulations multiple times. He has provided benefits plan advice and has been a member of the National Annuity Committee led by the PRC Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security since 2003.
Dr Jiang joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2003. Prior to joining KWM, he was a founding partner of another leading Chinese law firm and practised labour and employment law, and corporate law. Dr Jiang received his PhD in labour law from Peking University Law School and obtained his LLM and LLB from Renmin University Law School.
Dr. Jiang is proficient in both English and Chinese.
