During his postgraduate studies in Virginia, USA, Thomas Boller has built up extensive experience in the legal areas contract law, corporate law and mergers and acquisitions. He furthered his knowledge during his subsequent employment with two of the leading law firms in Austria, among them Freshfields. Since 2006, Thomas Boller has been with BLS Rechtsanwälte whereupon he is leading the corporate and employment group. In doing so, he and his team legally assist a multitude of clients with an international orientation, many of which are among the market leaders in their line of business. The renowned international guide to lawyers, The Legal 500, especially highlighted Thomas Boller's ability to put himself in the position of his clients' respective industries. In 2009, Thomas Boller became a partner with BLS Rechtsanwälte. Recently, Thomas Boller has been recommended by JUVE, a leading magazine for lawyers, for his employment law skills.
With respect to labour law, the emphasis of Dr Thomas Boller’s legal practice revolves around the collective and individual provision of legal advice to well-staffed, renowned companies, most of which have been his clients for many years, as well as their legal representation. Recently, particularly the unification of various works agreements (for example, regarding working hours) as well as the provision of legal advice on reorganisations and transfers of a business have led to a high workload.
Thomas Boller regularly represents his clients, namely employers as well as executives and other employees, in all of their day-to-day labour law matters, both out of court and before the court, mostly resulting from laying off of (protected) employees or the assertions of claims by employees, often represented by the chamber of labour.
Other matters include drafting and negotiation of several employment agreements, side letters, mutual termination agreements, works agreements, notifications, letters of termination etc.
