Christine Ezcutari is a structured finance and banking lawyer based in Paris.
Christine Ezcutari is qualified as a Solicitor (1995) and as an Avocat at the Paris Bar (1997). With her dual qualification, Christine is extremely well positioned to assist French and international banks on a variety of French law and international finance transactions, including complex syndicated debt financings. She also provides our clients (international banks and operators) with advice on commercial matters and is experienced in the coordination of multi-jurisdictional financing.
Christine regularly acts on behalf of large European financial institutions and lessors. Christine has particular experience in structured financings, including complex multi-jurisdictional financing, tax structures and export credit financings. She has advised banks and ship owners on numerous ship and export credit financings, including LNG vessels, container vessels, VLCCs and cruise ships. Christine also advises on general commercial matters such as charters, sales and lease backs. She is in charge of the Paris shipping finance practice and also very active in rail finance.
Christine has acquired a particular expertise in the field of export credit financing and has represented a number of banks in transactions involving Coface, SINOSURE, JBIC, Finnvera/FEC, the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (KSURE), the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM), Eksportfinans, ONDD, HERMES, Atradius, SERV and SACE. She also has expertise dealing with Middle Eastern companies.
Christine is recommended in Legal 500 2013 where her practice “scores at the highest level for its rigour and professionalism”. Christine is “praised for her listening and personal abilities and rigorous writing”. Christine is a member of the Association Française de Droit Maritime and author of the Official Guide to Ship Registry section for France. She is a board member of WISTA France (Women International Shipping and Trading Association).
Christine was named a Knight of the National Order of Merit (Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite) for her career as a shipping and rail financing lawyer by the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy (November 2015) and appointed to the French Merchant Shipping High Council (CSMM) as a qualified member (August 2016).
