Reynaldo Vizcarra is the national managing partner of Baker McKenzie's Mexico offices and the founding partner of its compliance practice. Having joined the firm in the 80s as a law student, Reynaldo has nearly 30 years of experience in various offices of the firm, including a stint in Chicago in the mid-90s, and a founding partner role in the Guadalaja and Cancún offices of the firm. Reynaldo provides leadership on most of the investigations and consultations handled by the Mexican Compliance practice. He specialises in applying compliance standards in real-life situation faced by a broad spectrum of clients in Mexico. His extensive background in investment and infrastructure projects in the tourism and real estate sectors, along with broad experience working on the privatisation processes of ports, airports, as well as telecommunications and insurance companies, gives him a unique perspective on the transactions that most concern clients in the anti-corruption space. In this regard, he has also provided consulting services to companies in connection with public work biddings, contracts and acquisitions involving federal government agencies, all recognised as ‘hot spots’ for potential corruption.
