Sharon is a leading player in competition law in Australasia, a ‘Go To’ expert in the market (one of only two lawyers providing legal advice to the Business Council of Australia on the Harper Panel’s Competition Law and Policy Review) and has been widely recognised as such through numerous directory listings and awards (one of the Global 150 Women in Antitrust 2016). Sharon advises on large scale commercial transactions and investigations which have a competition law application in Australia or the Asia Pacific Region. She has also led her team to become market-leading advisers on major complex cartel, competition and consumer litigation and investigations. Her clients consist of a range of domestic and international clients who come to her for their complex competition needs in a range of jurisdictions.
As head of the firms’ Australian Competition Law and Regulatory Group, Sharon has been instrumental in building the competition law capability of our Hong Kong practice, which is already recognised as a tier 1 competition law team. Highly regarded for her technical expertise and business acumen and her track record of no failures, Sharon is an active member of the Law Council of Australia’s Competition and Consumer Committee, most recently taking the lead on the Committee’s submission to the Federal Treasury on the government’s response to those of the Harper Committee’s recommendations that touch upon Australia’s merger control regime.
