Edmund Kronenburg began his career at Drew & Napier, and is today the managing partner of Braddell Brothers LLP.
He appears as counsel in trials and appeals before the Singapore courts, as well as in international commercial arbitrations, eg under the SIAC, ICC and UNCITRAL Rules. He also sits as an arbitrator.
The Legal 500 (Asia-Pacific, 2012–2015) describe him as ‘aggressive’, ‘articulate’, ‘good strategist’, ‘trusted confidant”, ‘good advocate’, ‘best in class’ and having a ‘flair for arbitration’.
Chambers & Partners(Global Guide, 2013) report that he ‘is a top-notch lawyer who comes up with comprehensive and pragmatic advice’, sources say. Beside commercial disputes he also has expertise in medical-related matters.
Edmund’s practice areas include corporate and commercial litigation & arbitration, medical negligence & misconduct, employment, cross-border family litigation, corporate insolvency and injunctions.
He acts for the Singapore Medical Council in disciplinary hearings and has been involved in a variety of medical negligence matters in the Singapore courts, including two out of the three medical negligence cases decided by Singapore’s apex court, ie, the Court of Appeal.
Edmund also frequently lectures on medico-legal issues as well as on dispute resolution and arbitration, and has been teaching Trial Advocacy and Cross-Examination at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore since 1997.
Other solicitors have instructed Edmund to act as Counsel. He is privileged to have appeared opposite various senior counsel since 2006, and against Queen’s Counsel, successfully, in a matter before the Singapore High Court in 2012.
