Miguel Velutini is a junior partner in the corporate group of Rodriguez & Mendoza. He specialises in the areas of corporate law, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, banking and secured transactions, and oil and gas.
Mr Velutini has participated as counsel to various companies in the restructuring and refinancing of their debt; as counsel to Bellsouth in the sale of Telcel CA to Movistar; to Johnson & Johnson in the acquisition of the PCH division from Pfizer; to DEG in various financing arrangements; to the senior lenders in the refinancing of the Petrocedeño project; to the lenders in the financing to Global Crossing; to Japan Bank for International Cooperation and the commercial bank lenders in the financing of the Metor project; to the Hamaca participants in the negotiation of joint venture and operating agreements between the Cerro Negro and Hamaca projects; to Citigroup in the capitalisation of Corporación Digitel and the issuance of American depositary shares by Ternium; and to Deutsche Bank in the winding up of the securities of the Petrozuata project. In addition, Mr Velutini actively counsels various clients in their day-to-day operations in Venezuela, including Gazprom, HP Financial Services and Brasil Telecom.
Mr Velutini received his JD from Andrés Bello Catholic University, Venezuela in 1998, and his LLM from Duke Law School in 2000. He was admitted to the Caracas Bar in 1998.
