Belén started her career as an in-house lawyer and later as senior associate in the corporate law department of Monero Meyer Marinel-lo. She carried out the growth of the IT law department, which she headed through 2015, working on matters of digital law, e-commerce, data protection, pharma and biotech, disruptive technologies and IT. She also advised clients, both international and domestic, in matters of unfair competition, marketing and advertising, product liability and regulatory. In 2016, she joined Miliners Abogados y Asesores Tributarios as managing partner of IT and digital law.
She is also an arbitrator appointed by AEADE, specialising in technology law.
She is an expert lawyer in internet and e-commerce matters and is recogniaed in the Spanish chapter of the Who's Who directory in the editions Who's Who Legal of Internet and E-commerce, Who's Who Legal of Information Technology Lawyers, Who's Who Legal Lawyers of Information Technology, and Who's Who Legal of Telecom, Media and Technology Lawyers. She was recently recognised in the areas of TMT, data privacy and protection and data security, and has been highlighted as a leading individual as well in the Thought Leaders for Spain category .
Belén has a long-standing connection with academia. She teaches and lectures at diverse institutions and associations, in particular at UNED, IDI, IFAES and the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB), in whose Master of Information society she lectures on matters of data protection and privacy and technology law.
She participated the Spanish Data Protection Authority project, concerning the preparation of International Data Protection Standards.
Belén is also a coordinator and moderator of many panels and round tables on electronic commerce, data protection and privacy in a wide number of forums and conferences. She was previously a speaker at the 4YFN of the Mobile World Congress forum.
