Kensei Ikeda is a partner at TMI Associates. He joined the firm in 2006 and received his LL.M. from Duke Law School in 2015. He was seconded to the M&A group of the New York office of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP from 2015 to 2016.
Mr. Ikeda’s M&A experience encompasses various industries, including transactions involving financial institutions and real estate companies. He also served as a deputy director of the Financial Services Agency of Japan from 2010 to 2012, where he was principally involved in the revision of various securities law regulations, such as Japan’s tender offer rule. His agency experience also included significate enforcement activity, and he was involved in the ordering of administrative monetary penalties to those who submitted false disclosure documents. From both his private sector and governmental experience, Mr. Ikeda advises clients IPOs, equity financings (often involving a global offering), crisis management and corporate governance matters, in addition to M&A, including taking-private, transactions.
