Mercia Shannon Fynn has a bachelor of commerce (law) degree, an LLB and a postgraduate diploma (corporate law), which she obtained at the University of the Witwatersrand. She is a member of the Corporate Counsel Association of South Africa and the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law.
Mercia has many years of experience in commercial law, particularly in the negotiation and structuring of a variety of commercial transactions and drafting of a range of commercial agreements relating to, among others, licensing transactions, franchising, leases of immovable property, sales of shares and employment arrangements.
Mercia also advises clients on all aspects of corporate law, including the establishment of different business entities, statutory changes, the establishment and operation of social and ethics committees, directors’ duties and shareholder disputes.
Mercia’s primary focus is on consumer law, data privacy law and electronic communications and transactions, and she has assisted a number of clients of different sizes in legal compliance with the relevant laws.
