Dr Marcus von Welser was admitted to the Bar in 2002 and was certified as an attorney specialised in intellectual property law in 2008. He advises and represents clients in all areas of media law and intellectual property law, in particular copyright, trademark and competition law and also has extensive experience in licensing and litigation. He is a lecturer for international copyright law and for anti-counterfeiting at the Humboldt University of Berlin.
Dr Marcus von Welser studied at the University of Berlin and at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom, where he graduated as a Master of Laws (LLM). He obtained a PhD in copyright law at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel.
Dr Marcus von Welser publishes and lectures regularly. He is co-editor and co-author of several publications, inter alia, a Manual of Anti-Counterfeiting and Product Piracy, a Manual of Media Law and a Manual of Copyright Law.
Dr Marcus von Welser is member of the Munich Bar Association, the International Trademark Association (INTA), the European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA) and the German Association for the protection of Industrial Property and Copyright (GRUR).
