Ivars Mēkons has been practising international aviation and international investment law for more than 15 years. He holds a master’s degree in international law (LLM) from the University of Latvia Law School (2004). Among his regular clients are foreign airlines, lessors, lessees, financiers, investment funds, and venture capitalists. He is frequently hired as a counsel to assist in complex international arbitration deals and disputes pertaining to international aviation and international investment protection. Through publishing papers and opinions in various popular industry internet sources, he is an active proponent of a progressive and realistic risk-assessment based approach to business issues from the standpoint of law.
