Christina Suen is a Senior Associate at Vivien Teu & Co LLP, and she has around 12 years’ legal experience across corporate, commercial, asset management and financial services areas.
Christina’s practice in the firm’s asset management area covers advising on SFC authorized retail funds, in particular Mainland funds that are authorized in Hong Kong under the ‘Mutual Recognition of Funds between the Mainland and Hong Kong’ arrangement, on matters relating to such Mainland funds’ eligibility, authorization application, pre-launch operational set up, post authorization compliance and ongoing matters. She also advises on Hong Kong funds that are seeking authorization in Mainland under the same arrangement. Christina is experienced in advising on the establishment and authorisation of SFC retail funds, including SFC authorized UCITS funds, ETFs, as well as on matters relating to scheme changes, fund mergers, restructuring and termination. She also advises on regulatory matters, such as application for SFC licenses, compliance and transactions concerning licensed entities.
Prior to joining Vivien Teu & Co LLP, Christina was a senior in-house counsel at a leading global investment firm, with responsibilities over the legal and regulatory affairs of the firm’s investment management business in Hong Kong, covering retail investment funds authorised in Hong Kong including local and UCITS products, Hong Kong mandatory provident fund schemes and other corporate and commercial matters relating to the business.
