Ilja Czernik advises museums, culturally committed companies, business associations, corporate foundations, and entrepreneurs but also renowned artists on all matters of art law especially focusing on new trends such as digital business models, merchandising concepts and trans-media and cross-media marketing issues. Ilja Czernik has deep knowledge of all sorts of copyright-related issues because he combines long-standing practical experience with an elaborate scientific background as he is co-author of the highly regarded commentary on copyright law Wandtke/Bullinger (since 4th Ed, C.H Beck). Another focus he has is on the cultural heritage law. That is why Ilja Czernik is co-author of the only current commentary on the cultural heritage act (Elmenhorst/Wiese Kulturgutschutzgesetz, 1st Ed, CH Beck). Next to his work as a lawyer Ilja Czernik is a committee member in the section “text and language” of the Kulturkreis der deutschen Wirtschaft im BDI e.V. (Association of Arts and Culture of the German Economy at the Federation of German Industries eV) being the longest-standing institution for entrepreneurial support of the arts in Germany.
