Dr. Christine Bader is a partner in the Regulatory, Public Law & Competition group in the Hamburg office of Watson Farley & Williams. Her two main areas of expertise are energy law and German/EU competition law.
In the energy and infrastructure sector, she regularly advises on regulatory aspects of projects in renewable and also conventional energy, with a focus on permit, grid connection and remuneration of renewable energy projects.
She was involved in some of the largest renewable energy projects Germany, such as advising the financing banks of the offshore wind farms Deutsche Bucht, Veja Mate and Trianel Windpark Bochum Phase II, respectively, on permit, grid connection, EEG remuneration and selling of electricity. Other projects include the offshore grid connection DolWin 3. Christine has advised on the regulatory aspects of several German geothermal projects. Her experience further relates to a large number of onshore wind farms, PV projects as well as other power plants. Her clients include investors, financing banks, project developers and utilities.
Christine is a member of the legal board of the German Wind Energy Association (BWE). She is regularly speaking at conferences and has published several articles on renewable energy as well as co-authored a legal commentary on grid expansion in Germany.
