Ayaz also has experience of other disputes within the extractive industries and has previously worked on a case for a dual listed junior gold mining company in a multi-million dollar arbitration claim brought against it by its contractor in connection with a gold mine in West Africa.
Ayaz was previously seconded to the Upstream Oil and Gas team at ExxonMobil during which time he focused predominately on assets in the North Sea, Eastern Europe and the Caspian basin. Prior to qualification Ayaz spent time with the energy project finance team and worked on the project financing of a multibillion dollar petrochemical facility in a CIS state.
