Andrew Ang is the head of the firm’s Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions practice, and is a partner in the Private Equity practice.
His main practice areas are local and cross-border M&A, corporate restructurings, joint ventures, privatisations and private equity investments.
Andrew has been involved in significant private M&A transactions, having acted for Singapore billionaire Mr Peter Lim in his disposal of the entire issued and paid-up share capital of Sasteria Pte. Ltd. to Rowsley Ltd., for a total consideration of up to S$1.6 billion; Horst Schulze and his associates in the sale of the Capella Hotel Group business to Singapore's Kwee family.
He also advised AFC Merchant Bank ("AFC Bank") in the acquisition by Resona Holdings Inc. of a 100% stake in Singapore-based AFC Bank.
Andrew is recognised as a leading Corporate/M&A lawyer in Chambers Global, Chambers Asia-Pacific, IFLR1000, The Legal 500, Asialaw Profiles and Asialaw Leading Lawyers. Clients have praised him for his "agile intellect" and valued for his "[ability] of examining a multitude of scenarios and giving sound advice on tactics".
Andrew was recognised as "Lawyer of the Year" for Private Equity Law in the 2018 edition of Best Lawyers in Singapore and is endorsed for both M&A and private equity.
Andrew graduated from the University of Nottingham. He is admitted as a barrister-at-law (Gray’s Inn) and to the Singapore Bar.
