Dr Matthias von Kaler joined PwC Legal as a senior manager in 2011. He is a member of the firm’s public law practice. After working for two years as a judge at an administrative court, Matthias was admitted to the Bar in 1999 and joined Clifford Chance LLP in Berlin. Since 2006, he worked for Linklaters LLP in Berlin.
Matthias’ practice focuses on public law, including constitutional, administrative, environmental and budgetary law. His work includes representing clients before authorities and administrative courts. Matthias frequently cooperates and interacts with German governments at all administrative levels, inter alia, with regard to legislative projects. He is experienced at advising entities of the public sector, ministries in particular, as well as private companies. Matthias is also regularly consulted on transactions, being responsible for public law aspects of due diligences and contracts. He publishes and lectures frequently on public law, with a recent focus on the legal aspects of new mobility concepts.
