Degree in law from the Universidad de Barcelona in 1982. Master’s in comparative law from the University of Lewven (Belgium) and Strasburg (France) and in community law from the University of Dundee (Scotland).
He specialises in competition law, unfair competition and intellectual property law (patents and trademarks), also in copyright and distribution and franchise agreements.
He has been member of the governing board of the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB) and President of the Professional Development Board. He has been president of its competition law and intellectual property division.
Santiago is a member of the International Association of Defence Counsel (IADC) and the Defence Research Institute (DRI) and a founder of the Spanish Section of Amnesty International.
He has been a professor of competition law at the Universidad of Pompeu Fabra, of Arbitration in the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Empresa (ISDE), and of competition law, unfair competition and arbitration in the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB) and IP Litigation in the Universitad Internacional de Catalunya (UIC). He is the author of many articles published in Spanish, French and English in national and international magazines relating to different matters such as: distribution agreements, trademarks, copyright, unfair competition law, Spanish procedural system and arbitration. He works in Spanish, Catalan, English and French.
