Prior to joining time.lex in September 2016, Bernd graduated in 2015 as Master of Laws at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University Leuven (cum laude). He took the options economic law and tax law. Before that, Bernd completed his bachelor's degree at the University of Hasselt, characterised by a strong emphasis on European law.
Last year, Bernd further specialised in IP/IT by successfully completing the LLM Intellectual Property Rights and ICT Law, also at the Catholic University of Leuven (cum laude). His thesis entitled "Legal aspects of the use of encryption technologies as counter-surveillance measure in the EU, as Compared to the US" underscores his interest in ICT law, including privacy and data protection.
