Irina Jelčić has been a partner with Hanžeković & Partners since 2003. Her legal practice focuses on mergers & acquisitions, takeover bids, commercial and corporate transactions, capital market transactions, IPOs as well as on a wide range of lending and energy related transactions. Irina Jelčić has provided legal advice in a number of high-profile cases, including the acquisition of the two largest banks in Croatia. She advises on M&A deals, structuring and drafting share purchase agreements, pre- and post-closing actions, and other legal matters related to corporate business in various industry sectors. She has participated in many research projects and contributed to many publications in relation to the Croatian legal practice. In 2001, at the World Bank Lex Mundi Harvard University Conference in Washington, Irina Jelčić was invited as guest speaker to present the legal structure and judicial efficiency in Croatia. Furthermore, in 2008, she was awarded the World Bank’s ‘Doing Business Award’ in recognition of her input over the past five years.
Irina Jelčić was a member of the Examining Commission for the Croatian Bar Exam at the Ministry of Justice for the subject Constitutional order, the basics of the EU law and organisation of the justice system. She is a member of the Anti-Money Laundering Commission at the Croatian Bar Association and as of this year she is the Delegate of the Croatian Bar Association in the CCBE.
