Sungjean Seo is a senior foreign attorney in the firm's International Arbitration & Cross-Border Litigation Practice and Construction/Shipping Practices.
Ms. Seo specializes in international commercial arbitration, representing Korean and international clients in arbitrations conducted under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, LMAA, ICDR, and KCAB, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations. She has extensive experience in complex disputes arising out of a range of commercial contexts including joint ventures, distributorship relationships, and intellectual property. In recent years, Ms. Seo has concentrated her practice representing clients in the construction, power projects and shipbuilding sectors, in arbitrations seated in London, Paris, and Seoul.
Before joining Kim & Chang, Ms. Seo practiced for several years in New York with Milbank, Tweed Hadley and McCloy LLP and Rogers & Wells LLP (now Clifford, Chance USA LLP) where she concentrated primarily in the area of complex cross-border finance. Ms Seo also taught at the Michigan State University College of Law and at the Graduate School of International Studies at Yonsei University, Korea.
Ms. Seo received her J.D. from the School of Law at Columbia University and is a member of the bar of the State of New York.
