Ricardo Anibal Mejia M, born in Honduras on 13 September 1964, currently serves as Bufete Mejia & Asociados' partner and IP director. He specializes in commercial law and is acknowledged as an intellectual property authority for Honduras and Central America nationally and internationally.
He has been invited to lecture on intellectual property by Forbes, the Fort-Worth Chamber of Commerce and the International Trademark Association; and he has participated in several conferences as a panelist for the Inter-American Association of Industrial Property. In 2017, he was asked to speak before the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI); this year, he has been invited by the Intellectual Property Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce to speak, at a conference, on IP developments in Central America.
He has acted as country representative for the Inter-American Association of Industrial Property (ASIPI), and served as trademark reporter on the annual review and anti-counterfeiting committees of the International Trademark Association, as well as other committees and task forces. He is former vice president and board member of the intellectual property subcommittee for the Inter-American Bar Association and national ambassador for the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) on IP matters. He is a long-standing member of ECTA, PTMG and CITMA. In 2007, he was appointed honorary counsel of the Republic of Paraguay in Honduras.
