Mr. José Caro John is Partner of the firm, specializing in criminal law.
Mr. Caro John is one of the most prominent Peruvian experts in criminal law and one of the most experience criminal lawyers with a proven track-record in white collar crime law in Peru, both in the branch of litigation and in consulting for prevention of corporate criminal risks and compliance.
Mr. José Caro John is a lawyer from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, and has post-graduate studies at Pompeu Fabra University (Spain) and at the University of Bonn (Germany), which granted him the degree of Doctor of Law.
Prior to joining the firm, he was founding Partner of Caro John Abogados Consultores and has been Senior Associate for the White-Collar Crime Law Area of Estudio Benites, Forno, Ugaz & Abogados.
He has been Scholarship of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law (MPI), and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH).
In addition to his professional practice in white-collar crime matters, he actively participates in conferences and training courses and specialization for the Public Ministry and the Peruvian Judiciary actors in Peru and abroad.
Mr. José Caro John has published in Germany the book entitled “Das erlaubte Kausieren verbotener Taten – Regressverbot” (La causación permitida de hechos prohibidos – Prohibición de regreso), based on the thesis he undertook at the University of Bonn to obtain the Doctor of Law degree.
