Hemant Singh is an IP counsel as well as managing partner and founding member of Inttl Advocare, one of India’s leading intellectual property law firms, with offices located in Delhi and Mumbai. He was admitted to the Bar in 1984 and has handled over 1,900 IP litigations in various courts all over India. He has been the lead counsel in several landmark IP cases involving contentious and complex issues in the areas of trademarks, patents, designs, copyright, trade secrets, geographical indications, competition laws, etc. With a diverse worldwide clientele, he represents several Fortune 100 and 500 companies. He is also representing INTA in their first ever Amicus brief before the Supreme Court of India in a case involving the issue of parallel imports. His leadership has led Inttl Advocare to be awarded ‘Best Trade Mark Counsel – Global Award 2014’ by Novartis Pharmaceuticals.
Hemant is also a member of the International Amicus Committee of INTA; Trade Marks Committee and Council member of APAA (Asian Patent Attorneys Association) and AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property) – India Group – and chairman of the National Council on Intellectual Property of Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM), which is the oldest chamber of industries in India.
