Nathan Shaheen has a litigation practice focusing on fraud and commercial matters. He also has experience in complex insurance matters and enforcing foreign judgments and orders. Nathan has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court and Court of Appeal, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada.
As part of his fraud practice, Nathan represents clients on matters including complex multi-jurisdictional frauds, investment frauds, employee thefts and other fraudulent schemes. He has experience conducting fraud investigations, tracing and freezing assets, working with external auditors, interviewing witnesses and recovering of the proceeds of fraud through courts and alternative means. Nathan is also a regular author and speaker on fraud-related matters.
Nathan also acts as duty counsel to self-represented parties appearing in the Toronto Superior Court, providing summary advice and other assistance as part of the Pro Bono Law Ontario Duty Counsel Project. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Advocates' Society and the Toronto Lawyers Association.
