Mark is a senior associate in the litigation department in the BVI office. He joined Harneys in 2015, from Thomas More Chambers, where he practised as an independent barrister principally in the areas of insolvency, company, commercial, and property law. Mark has appeared in a range of tribunals from the First Tier Tribunal to the Court of Appeal, Civil and Criminal Divisions, both as a junior and in his own right.
In 2014, Mark spent several months working with offshore clients in Mauritius, providing advisory and litigation services for Thomas More International. During that time he acted for international clients in Mauritian insolvency proceedings, advised an investment fund on the acquisition of assets a number of African states worth over US$1 billion, and provided advice and drafting services in relation to a complex funding structure for US$120 million construction project in Equatorial Guinea.
Mark has a particular interest in restitution, implied trusts and equitable remedies in the commercial context.
