Dr. Henrik Holzapfel provides legal advice and client counselling on all aspects of intellectual property law and related areas.

Henrik has extensive experience in litigating patents (infringement and invalidity) and providing strategic advice to his clients. He also regularly acts in cases of other intellectual property rights like supplementary protection certificates for medicinal products (SPCs) and utility models, and he advises on IP licensing agreements, including advice on FRAND licensing, on European competition law, and on drafting R&D agreements. Other key areas of his practice include advising on the law on employees’ inventions, unfair competition law and general contract law. Henrik’s clients represent a wide variety of industries such as pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices, chemicals, automotive, engineering and IT.

Henrik has held positions at international law firms in Germany and London. He has authored various publications on intellectual property law and has been recognised by major industry guides for his strategic thinking and excellence in patent litigation. He earned his doctorate at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich and the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, Munich, and he is a lecturer at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg.
