Paolo Piantavigna is a tax lawyer at Chiomenti Studio Legale. He is also a research fellow at IBFD (Amsterdam) on abuse and aggressive tax planning, a lecturer and tutor in tax law at the Department of Law of the University of Pavia. He holds a master’s degree in Tax and a PhD degree from the University of Milan-Bicocca. He has done research stays in several prestigious institutions, such as Columbia University Law School and the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law (Munich). He has taught at the University of Pavia and in other academic institutions in Italy. His key areas of expertise are domestic tax procedural law and international tax planning. He has written more than 30 articles, among which a monograph study on tax abuse in European Union law, published in 2011.
