Maria Arthur is a Dominican Republic (DR) lawyer specialised in tax advisory and planning, strategic representation in tax litigation, corporate reorganisations and private client services.
Maria has gained significant experience in the establishment of businesses, acquisitions and due diligence processes.
She holds a Juris Doctor (Magna Cum Laude) in law from Universidad Iberoamericana in Dominican Republic, a master’s in Tax (LL.M) from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC, and a Masters in Taxation from Pompeu Fabra and Politecnica de Cataluña Universities in Barcelona. She holds a Diploma in Accounting from the Caribbean University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Maria is a founding partner of Arthur & Castillo Law Firm since 2000. She has been a lawyer and adviser in the tax department of local and international law firms, in the Legal Affairs Office of the Dominican Tax Administration and in the International Tax Services Department of a Big Four Firm.
She has served as professor at Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) and the Institute of Tax Training (INCAT) lecturing on tax planning and administrative law.
Maria is a certified judicial interpreter for English and Spanish languages.
