Simon joined Kennedys in June 2015. Simon specialises in corporate insurance including transactional work, regulatory, international health regulation and health insurance law. Simon has over 12 years’ experience in representing international insurers and international intermediaries in the medical and life insurance markets globally.
Simon regularly frequently advises on international regulatory issues with medical and life insurers and also advises insurance intermediaries on placement of risks and products in foreign markets, including underwriting agents and brokers. His corporate insurance work has included setting up international insurers and agents in foreign markets through local incorporation, reinsurance arrangements and partnering with local primary licensed insurers across all lines of business.
Simon also acts for a number of national UAE insurance companies providing regulatory and restructuring advice in light of the new Financial Regulations for UAE insurers. Simon has been working closely with the UAE Insurance Authority with respect to the separation of life and general insurance from the insurer’s books of business in terms of restructuring advice to a number of national insurance companies.
Simon’s clients include insurance and reinsurance companies, insurance intermediaries (brokers, underwriting agents and IFAs), third party medical claim administrators, medical providers, medical claims administrators and local UAE trading companies. Simon acts for and has represented the UK’s largest life and general insurer in the Gulf region in respect of its international portfolio of products to the expatriate markets.
