Juan Fernando Larrea Savinovich joined the Firm in 2009. His professional efforts are focused on the administrative, regulatory and environmental (sustainability) areas, with special emphasis on mining and renewable energy projects, corporate social responsibility and preliminary consultation processes.
His practice includes the development, planning and performance of corporate social responsibility strategies regarding natural resources; regulatory and environmental due diligence; consultancy on acquiring important mining projects deemed strategic by the Ecuadorian State; administration, management and representation of multinational companies in contentious-administrative proceedings and environmental responsibility; negotiation of agreements with communities located in the area of influence of mining projects, primarily gold, silver and copper deposits in southern Ecuador; assistance in environmental licensing processes; and in general, global consultancy for businesses and investments in the energy, natural resources and infrastructure sectors in Ecuador.

McGill University in Montreal, Canada, postgraduate studies. During this time, Juan Fernando published various articles: his interest especially focused on the practical interpretation of the Ecuadorian Constitution with regards to potential conflicts due to the co-existence of the rights of nature and the right of the State to exploit natural resources, as well as investments in renewable energy and sustainability as a challenge for new generations.
He is extremely interested in research related to the instrumentation of innovative tools to achieve sustainability in an attempt to prevent the impacts of global warming and climate change.
