Kirsty Simpson is a director in the dispute resolution department at ENSafrica.
Kirsty is a specialist in commercial litigation and alternate dispute resolution (including expert determination, mediation and both domestic and international arbitration), as well as related litigation (such as the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and courts orders). She provides practical advice and strategic insight into litigious or potentially litigious matters, with a view to effective management and resolution, or avoidance, of disputes.
Kirsty has extensive experience in representing listed and unlisted national, foreign and multi-national clients in, inter alia, the mining, projects, construction and engineering, retail, logistics, food and beverages and property sectors. This experience includes all aspects of contractual disputes, domestic and international arbitration.
Kirsty has particular expertise in resolving disputes on or pertaining to the African continent and a keen interest in the impact of technology, artificial intelligence and smart contracts on the businesses of her clients and the practice of law.
Kirsty has right of appearance in the High Court of South Africa. She is registered as an arbitrator with the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa (“AFSA”) and is a member of the International Bar Association (“IBA”). Kirsty also is a council member of WOLELA (Women Leading in Law).
