Evelien Jamaels is an associate in Crowell & Moring's Brussels office and a member of the firm's Labour and Employment Group.
Evelien’s practice mainly focuses on individual and collective labour law. She assists both national and international companies with their complex employment issues. These concern, for example: restructuring, closure of companies, termination of employment agreements, drafting and reviewing of employment agreements, work regulations and policies, drafting and negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements, and audits/due diligence for multinationals. Evelien has also gained particular experience in the employment of non-EU workers in Belgium (work permit, visa, residency permit, etc).
Evelien coaches law students from the Free University of Brussels and she is also a member of the Social Law Department of this University. She is a regular contributor to the Dutch-language financial/economic magazine Trends. In this publication, Evelien responds to questions regarding Belgian and EU labour law that have been sent in by readers (for example, concerning flexible working time).
