Lee Murphy is a corporate partner in Eversheds Sutherland and its Head of Equity Capital Markets in Ireland. Lee has extensive transactional experience in the areas of equity capital markets and public/private company M&A.
His equity capital markets experience includes advising on many keynote IPOs and equity fund raisings of Irish companies.
These transactions for the most part have been on a dual market basis involving both Euronext Dublin and the London Stock Exchange with associated compliance, securities laws, public company and corporate governance advices. Lee’s recent ECM experience includes advising:
Escher Group Holdings plc on its recommended takeover by Hanover Equity Fund plc
Cairn Homes plc on its €400 million IPO and admission to trading on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange;
Hibernia REIT plc on its €365 million IPO and dual listing on the Irish and London Stock Exchanges and on its subsequent €300m secondary equity capital raise effected by way of a placing and open offer;
Dalata Hotel Group plc on its €265 million IPO and dual listing on the Irish and London Stock Exchanges and on its subsequent €455 million reverse takeover of the Moran Bewley Hotel Group and associated equity raise;
Escher Group Holdings plc on its IPO and admission to trading on AIM and associated fund-raising.
Aside from ECM work, Lee has also acted over many years in private company M&A work advising on the acquisition and disposal of companies in many sectors including in healthcare, telecoms, retail, property, technology, agri-business and renewable energy.
Prior to qualifying as a solicitor in 2004, Lee practised for a number of years as a veterinary surgeon.
