Partner at Headrick Rizik Alvarez & Fernández since 2008, his legal exercise is focused in the areas of civil law, labor matters, commercial law, and corporate law in general. He assists clients on tax matters, structuring and implementation of real estate and tourist projects, acquisition and installation of regulated and non-regulated industries, corporate and estate reorganizations, processes of legal due diligence, and operations in the mining and energy sectors.
He has represented the Dominican Republic as panelist before the Forum on Insolvency in Latin America (FILA) and has coauthored, Nation Reports corresponding to the Dominican Republic used in this forum and published by the World Bank.
In 2004, he participated as panelist representing the Dominican Republic before the Symposium on Insolvency in the Caribbean, sponsored by the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). In light of said participation, he was invited to form part of the Advisory Board for the organization of future symposiums, having thus participated once again as panelist, and in the organization of the symposium held in February 2006, focusing on the DR-CAFTA free trade agreement and international bankruptcy in light of the new Chapter 15 (Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005).
Author of the article “A New Approach to Bankruptcy in the Dominican Republic,” published in the June, 2007 edition of the ABI Journal. He is an active collaborator and coauthor of the chapters corresponding to the Dominican Republic in various legal guides.
His professional practice has been noticeably recognized by LATIN LAWYER, and the 2012 International Financial Law Review distinguished him as one of the country’s Leading Lawyers.
