Eugenio is a Partner at Uhthoff in Mexico where he leads the Patent Technical Team. He has over 20 years of practical experience and oversees all matters related to technical advice to national and multinational clients for protecting their patent assets in Mexico and abroad.
Eugenio joined Uhthoff in 1997 and was appointed Partner in 2008. He holds an Engineering Degree from Instituto Tecnológico y Estudios Superiores de Monterrey Mexico (ITESM) and an Industrial and Intellectual Property Law Diploma from Universidad Panamericana (UP) in Mexico.
Mr. Pérez is at the helm of one of the most qualified technical teams in the country comprised of engineers and scientists who, like him, also have a masterful understanding of patent law.
Setting Eugenio's team apart is their ability to not only file national phase applications from abroad as expected, but they also provide full services related to patent prosecution in Mexico. Eugenio is an active member of the Mexican Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AMPPI), deeply involved in the Patent Committee in which he acted as Chairman of the same for six years (2008-2014) and now he is the commissioner of the Educational Committee. Also, he is the Co-Chair of the Latin American Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) being the responsible for the Mexican and the Central American regions.
